The second walk in Walking Sydney: Fifteen walks with a city's writers is a stroll through time, underworlds and countercultures in Surry Hills with Fiona Kelly McGregor. Fiona guides us on a tour of key sites in the life of Iris Weber, dubbed 'the most violent woman in Sydney', who in Fiona's novel Iris is recreated vividly as lover, fighter and survivor. Woven through the steep hills are the stories of not just Iris and her associates but Fiona's memories of warehouse parties and performances, the streets alive with all that has happened here. Read more in Walking Sydney out 1 September.
