The sixth walk in Walking Sydney: Fifteen walks with a city's writers is with novelist and journalist Malcolm Knox. We walk the dreamy bay of Freshwater, where a house on a headland inspired Malcolm to write the novel Bluebird, in which broken down blokes cling to the legend of the surf. Out on the waves the surfers await their moment, and as we climb up to Queenscliff we consider the danger lurking beneath our most precious memories of days at the beach.
